“Blog Day August 31, 2006″:http://www.blogday.org/
bq. In one long moment In August 31st, bloggers from all over the world will post a recommendation of 5 new Blogs, Preferably, Blogs different from their own culture, point of view and attitude. On this day, blog surfers will find themselves leaping and discovering new, unknown Blogs, celebrating the discovery of new people and new bloggers.
I hate internet memes, but this one is a good idea. So here goes:
A sampling of a few weblogs I read:
“Emptybottle.org”:http://emptybottle.org :: Idiosyncratic blog from South Korea. Just plain brilliant. Deep down in the archives lies hidden some brilliant writing. Heck, you gotta love a weblog with categories name ” Thoughts That, If Not Deep, Are At Least Wide”:http://emptybottle.org/glass/thoughts_that_if_not_deep_are_at_least_wide/.
“Riverbendblog”:http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com/ :: Diary from Iraq, mostly about life under the occupation. Just plain good writing. Blogspot is banned in Pakistan, so here’s the requiste “proxy link to Riverbenblog”:http://pkblogs.com/riverbendblog.
“DOOCE”:http://www.dooce.com/ :: Brilliant writer. Really puts the “personal” in personal weblogs.
“How to Save the World”:http://blogs.salon.com/0002007/ :: Many interesting writings on today’s world, and the future.
“Marginal Revolution”:http://www.marginalrevolution.com :: A blog on economics and just about everything else from America.
