Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war

The MQM had been on it's best behavior ever since joining Musharraf's govt, and for a party run by this man, that was no mean achievement. Rumors have been floating around for the last few days that Musharraf had unleashed the MQM to stop the Cheif Justice of Pakistan from speaking at the Sindh high court - and the true colors of the MQM - blood red - are now running in streets. "Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war" indeed. Musharraf would do well to read the full passage from Julius Caesar, quoted below.

A curse shall light upon the limbs of men;
Domestic fury and fierce civil strife
Shall cumber all the parts of Italy;
Blood and destruction shall be so in use
And dreadful objects so familiar
That mothers shall but smile when they behold
Their infants quarter'd with the hands of war;
All pity choked with custom of fell deeds:
And Caesar's spirit, ranging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry 'Havoc,' and let slip the dogs of war;
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
- Julius Caesar, Act 3, Scene 1.

On the left is a picture of one of the many road blocks the government put up to bock the Chief Justice of Pakistan from getting to the Sindh High Court. The tape they used to seal off the area aptly demostrates their intentions. What could have been a peaceful speech has become a nightmare thanks to the MQM and the govt.

KO, correct me if I am mistaken. Never in recent times have I seen the main roads of Clifton, DHA (DHA 4 to Submarine chowk) and others been blocked by the containers much like the ones shown in your post as they were yesterday. While state-funded and rented-crowd at one man's will and ego is another issue, I wonder how much money has been spoiled and wasted at de-locating the resources throughout this massive city?

I'd also have to slightly disagree with you on MQM's best behavior in recent times. Yes, by their own standards, you could be aptly right but their agitation and islamized remarks/slogans (don't they call themselves Secular, I thought) against MMA right infront of Chief Minister's house, Sheraton
area, Saddar and other areas. Yes, they didn't practically stage dramas such as of yesterday but asking for "hanging of MMA leaders" and calling others Kaafirs in open speeches and banners is not something you'd expect from a ruling party of the largest city of the country.

I always have wondered that MQM boasts of their workers to be the most educated class of the country. I wonder how does being educated equate to be civil? How in SriLanka, the home of 90%+ literacy rate, is breeding home of violence and unrest.

these terrorist would never mend their ways..

btw that pic with container is not from karachi.. its from PMLQ islamabad rally which Mush addressed that night on 12may 07... 40 foot high stage was set with cargo containers on top of each other and with bullet proof glass on stage.. and billions spent on its arrangement...

MQM has goons but so do other political parties - please try to expose the thugs of PPP, PPI, ANP and JI. We in Karachi well know the rapes and killings they gave to our city. MQM started its vote bank on ethnical lines but it has since changed and I now support it as a true democratic party instead of kleptocratic business tycoons and land owners whose grand fathers once licked the imperialists' you know what pre-Independence! I wonder if you are also concerned about the suicide bombings, beheadings, open fatwas for them, killing of Pakistani troops by Taliban, jidahists who operate in Afghanistan and Kashmir - BTW, those killed there also have mothers. I wonder if you are concerned about the extremist thinking and support for extremism - the roots of which are not in Karachi but in NWFP and Northern Punjab. I wonder if you are concerned about Sipah Sihaba, Jesh and LeT whose offices openly run in Punjab. MQM is on in their league for sure otherwise US State Department officials will not meet that which they do regularly.

I think Pakistan has started to come back to the age of ethnical tension and people like you very much involved in this menace because you will never accept the MQM and its democratic base and urdu speaking leaders.
