Randy Paush's last lecture: Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams

Posted September 26, 2007 to America , Computing category.

Almost all of us have childhood dreams: for example, being an astronaut, or making movies or video games for a living. ... all ยป Sadly, most people don't achieve theirs, and I think that's a shame. I had several specific childhood dreams, and I've actually achieved most of them. More importantly, I have found ways, in particular the creation (with Don Marinelli), of CMU's Entertainment Technology Center (etc.cmu.edu), of helping many young people actually achieve their childhood dreams. This talk will discuss how I achieved my childhood dreams (being in zero gravity, designing theme park rides for Disney, and a few others), and will contain realistic advice on how you can live your life so that you can make your childhood dreams come true, too.

I watched you on Oprah........what a beautiful example you are of class and dignity....I wish you and your family peace and strength beyond measure....Thank you for putting many, many things into perspective...

I want this post to get to the family of Randy Pausch. He is an inspiration to many. When watching the primetime special about his life I was motivated to not let my son live a life filled with saddness. I am determined to bring sunshine into his life each and every day! I cant even imagine living with out my dad, who died when I was 21 years old from pancreatic cancer. Losing him then was hard enough-living without him seems unbearable. Randy has left a great legacy for those beautiful children. They are lucky to him in their lives even if it was a short time. i am so thankful Randy has opened my eyes to living life to its fulliest- Thank you Randy, may God bless your family and help them heal.

Hey do you guys have a Twitter account I could follow? I'm sick of using RSS feeds! It'd be great if you did it's a lot easier to find updates since I use Twitter so much!

Oprah Winfrey is one amongst the most effective samples of being born into meager circumstances and pulling oneself up by the bootstraps and moving on to become one amongst the foremost self-assured, powerful, and successful persons in the world.
