Lord Acton, back in the 19th century hit the nail on the head: "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men."
The problem in Pakistan is that our self proclaimed great man is only great in his own head, with all the propaganda bouncing around in his head inflating his ego to painfully large proportions.
Elections will go ahead as planned, now that the courts have been shut down and the press muzzled. What little trappings of human rights remained have been replaced by Musharraf, serving as the lone atlas holding up the failing state of Pakistan. It now make perfect sense as to why Musharraf ordered the spy agencies to stay away from the elections as all the opposition is in jail.
Musharraf is increasing sounding like Kim Jong II. The rate of change of his descent into the fate reserved for small minded dictators is increasing, and has reached the tipping point from which there is no turning back.
